Wow! We have had a busy few weeks here at school and are planning  even more fun for the upcoming weeks!

Reading and Language Arts:

We have been reading lots of stories about grandparents and special people in our lives. We have used these stories to practice recognizing character traits and to answer questions that require deep thinking. We have also been learning and practicing using our million dollar words. See my previous posts for information about million dollar words.

During our writer’s workshop time we have been working on developing our seed stories. These are small moments that we will turn into our first published piece of writing this year!

We will wrap up our first module on Multiication next week and will move on to  Module 2. This module covers place value and problem solving with units of measure.  We will begin with studying the number line and will move from there.
Science and Social Studies:

We finished up our plants unit today, and next week we will start our first unit in Social Studies. We will be studying the history of Pickerington as we start learning about the community we live in.
7 habits:

We continue to learn about and work on the 7 Habits here at school. Next week we will study habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind, and will talk about goals and action plans.
Don’t forget about our Yankee Candle Fundraiser, this is a great way to support all that the PTO does for our school!
