Learning Through Leadership

Monthly Archives: November 2014

Don’t forget to follow the daily happenings in our classroom on twitter! You can follow me at @hes_bristle or look for #hes_plsd.

We have been having a ton of fun in the classroom for the past few days, check out what we have been up to!

Fabulous Firsties!

The Health and Wellness Team and Welcome Wagon Team have made all the preparations for the Turkey Trot. Heritage students will be “trotting” their way around a one-tenth mile track Monday and Tuesday next week. Each time around will earn them an entry into the drawing for their classroom. A drawing will be held at the end of the day Tuesday and one student from each classroom will win a turkey to take home!

Over the past week the Elementary School Counselors have given out close to two dozen coats, hats, and gloves to students who came to school unprepared for the cold  weather.  We have about exhausted our supply of coats for boys and are running low for girls.

We are in need of CLEAN, Gently used warm winter coats, hats and gloves for school aged children.  If you are doing some cleaning out this Thanksgiving break and run across any of these items that might need a new home, please get them to your school counselor.  We will see that they are added to our “coat closet” housed at Tussing until we find a new home for them.  If you have any questions please e-mail Kathy Baird, the School Counselor at Tussing. Thanks in advance for your consideration.

Want to know what we are doing during the day in class? I have decided to try an experiment over the next few weeks. I am going to tweet what is happening in the room, as it is happening. I am also going to turn the twitter feed over to the kids so they can contribute too! I will still be blogging about big events, weekly happenings and such but this should keep you tuned in to the daily learning that is happening in class. You can find us at @hes_bristle and using the hashtag #hes_plsd.

Pull up the feed and let me know what you think!
